Netflix subscribers in the UK and Ireland will have more reason to cheer, as they will now get next-day access to the final episodes of the hit TV show Breaking Bad.

The eagerly anticipated final season of the award winning show will be available to stream on Netflix a day after it originally airs on the AMC Network in the U.S. for free of charge for existing Netflix subscribers. The deal was hammered out with Sony Pictures Television, but only includes the UK and Ireland region of Netflix. Subscribers in other regions, including North America, Scandinavia and Latin America, will not get access to the new episodes. Subscribers in all regions currently have access to the first four seasons of the hit series.

"We are thrilled to be bringing the highly anticipated final season of 'Breaking Bad' to Netflix members in the U.K. and Ireland on a first-run basis,” said Ted Sarandos, Netflix's chief content officer. "'Breaking Bad' is a once-in-a-generation caliber of show and continues to be a huge success on Netflix."

The show's creator Vince Gilligan praised the deal as just reward for loyal Netflix subscribers that have helped to popularise the show. "Netflix has been instrumental in making 'Breaking Bad' the success that it is - particularly in the U.K. and Ireland, where it has built an audience and become a huge phenomenon," Gilligan says. "I am delighted that fans there will be able to enjoy the end of [the show] on Netflix so soon after it airs in the U.S."

For Australian users of Netflix, if you're using a geo-unblocker service such as Unblock-Us or UnoTelly, you can use either service's included region selector to change your Netflix region to UK or Ireland to access the latest Breaking Bad episodes when they're released on August 12.
