A few classic, award winners, and a tear jerker or two, that was what the last week was all about as we look at the new releases on Aussie subscription video streaming platform, Stan.

You can check out Halle Berry in her Oscar winning performance (and not too bad of a turn from Billy Bob Thornton either) in Monster's Ball, or catch one of the two major magician movies released in 2006, in The Illusionist.

We also have two 1991 classics in Little Man Tate and L.A. Story, Jodie Foster's story about a single parent raising a genius son is a great little heartwarmer, while L.A. Story wasn't Steve Martin at his best, it was still a very enjoyable flick.

For fans of sports films, we have the 1986 classic Hoosiers, starring Gene Hackman and Dennis Hopper.

And did you know that Friends' Matthew Perry, Elizabeth Hurley, The Soprano's Vincent "Big Pussy" Pastore, Bruce Campbell, Cedric the Entertainer, Amy Adams, Terry Crews and Jerry Stiller all starred in the same film back in 2002? Me neither. It's worth checking out, but with an IMDb rating of 5.2, it's best to leave expectations low when watching Serving Sara.

For those wanting a good cry, we have My Sister's Keeper.

And for kids, we have Earth to Echo and Alpha and Omega.
