Binge Report: Trio of Netflix Shows Enter the Top 10 (October 21 - October 27, 2019)

BoJack Horseman's return via a sixth season has helped the animated hit return to the top of the TV Time Binge Report top 10.

TV Time calculates a binge session as when a viewer watches four or more episodes of the same show within a given day, as tracked by the TV Time (iPhone and Android) App. With most of TV Time's users being in the U.S., the binge data used in this report is therefore mainly reflective of the U.S. audience, and some shows listed are not available in Australia without the use of a suitable VPN.

The new season of BoJack bounced back into the top 10 with a 2.50% share of all binges, which isn't high for a first spot finish (suggesting people's bingeing priorities are being spread out by all the quality shows on offer at the moment).

Netflix's Israeli series Greenhouse Academy also returns (2.08% share), for the third season, and it re-enters the top 10 at 5th.

And Netflix's post-apocalyptic teen comedy series, Daybreak, debuts at 9th place with a 1.36% share - it's unknown how long this new show will stay in the top 10, or if it's one of those franchises that people "binge and forget". Also slightly worrying for Netflix is that a lot of the regulars in the top 10 are not its original shows but shows that it might lose in the near future to its competitors - including favourites such as 'Friends' (which is going to Warner's HBO Max), 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' (previously Disney/Fox, currently NBC - both of which are launching their own streaming platforms), 'The Big Bang Theory' (CBS) and 'Grey's Anatomy' (ABC - owned by Disney).

With the top 10's share of binges having a small spread (first spot's 2.50% to 10th's 1.33%), this suggests that the order of next week's top 10 chart could be very different.

With 3 in, 3 had to go out, and they were The Hook Up Plan, Big Mouth and Lucifer.
