Post Disney+, it's even more important for Stan to demonstrate that it has what it takes to take on this new upstart and Netflix. And with the new additions this week and in the coming weeks, it looks like Stan is ready for the challenge.
A couple of big series, some of them regulars on the Binge Report Top 10, has just been added to Stan along with their hundreds of episodes.
Series like Grey's Anatomy (Season 1 - 13), Family Guy (Seasons 1 - 16) and How I Met Your Mother (Complete Series) almost need no introduction, while the complete series of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Sons of Anarchy means hours and hours of quality binge-ing.
Many of these series have their home on Disney-owned Hulu in the U.S., but with Hulu having no plans to launch in Australia, Stan is the beneficiary. For now at least.
It's a Christmas tradition in the U.S., and it could be an Aussie one too because It's A Wonderful Life is quite a good movie, and one that has a great message.
The message is less clear in the equally great The Wolf of Wall Street, or perhaps you prefer the shaky-camera style of Cloverfield, if you don't suffer from motion sickness that is.
Gripping drama can be had in Shutter Island, with it becoming a totally different kind of movie towards the end, in a good way.
And Eddie Murphy is in fine form in Beverly Hills Cop, Beverly Hills Cop II, and Beverly Hills Cop III.
