So a new month is upon us, and what do you know, we're in October already and this means that the horrible, horrible 2020 is almost over. And being a new month, it means new content galore!
Ethan Hawke stars as abolitionist John Brown in the historical drama The Good Lord Bird - stream new episodes every week on Stan.
Other new series include the Stephen Graham series Code 404, and all 3 seasons of Harlots.
There is also a new season (14) of Grey's Anatomy. So no excuses for "nothing to watch" just based on this week's additions alone!
In movies, we have 2015's Legend, 2009's Watchmen (and no, you don't need to watch this movie before watching the HBO series, but Zack Snyder's 2009 effort is commendable as well), and 2010's The Fighter.
Classic movie options include the Peter Sellers comedy The Party; the much-maligned (but I've always enjoyed) The Battle of Britain; the Sean Connery espionage-but-not-Bond film The Russia House; there's always time for Evil Dead 2; and one of the two prison action films that Sylvester Stallone did towards the dying days of the '80s, Lock Up (something I've enjoyed whenever it has come up on TV, which sadly, doesn't happen as much anymore).
The documentaries series The Comedy Store looks at the evolution of comedy at the iconic L.A. club, a comedy club that includes the likes of Jim Carrey, Bill Burr, Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg and David Letterman as its alumni. New episodes arrive weekly. And finally, the taboo topic of miscarriage is dealt with in the documentary MuM: Misunderstandings of Miscarriage.
