Hello again. Usually, the first week of a month is when we get a huge influx of new content, but this second week of October seems to be even better. Let's have a look, shall we?
In case you mixed it when it first arrived on Australian shores (via Foxtel, I think), all 3 seasons of Mr. Robot is well worth watching even if you're not into computers and hacking and stuff, or that you didn't get the joke with the font used in the series title.
Two "complete series ... so far", erm, series arrives on Stan in the form of 9 seasons (!) of Cold Feet and the first 3 seasons of Miranda.
There is also a new season (6) of The Flash.
A truly huge list of movies and while I've tried to highlight some of my personal picks, I'm sure I've missed a few real gems, so make sure you check the full list carefully below.
Starting with the newish pick, the Boston Marathon terrorist attack is the subject matter of the well made Patriots Day starring Mark Wahlberg. I remember it being a great film when I first watched it on streaming, but then I was at home recuperating from a very painful finger injury, so who knows.
Some classic movies to add to your watchlist include sports film Hoosiers, Sir Richard Attenborough's Chaplin, and James Woods before he went all alt-right collaborating with Oliver Stone of all people in the in the memorable Salvador.
If you're after some trashy '80s action, then the American Ninja quadrilogy and 10 To Midnight, the better of the two Charles Bronson films added this week, are our picks.
Those who don't mind reading a bit of subtitle should check out Force Majeure, which was remade (of course) into the far inferior 'Downhill'.
And finally, this one will definitely warm the cockles. ABC's Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds was one of the best documentaries of last year, and even more poignant given what's been happening in aged care homes recently.
