An out of this world new series (that's gotten some flak online), some classic movies and some really solid documentaries have all just landed on Stan. Let's check them out, shall we?
Yeah, you might want to avoid reading the IMDb reviews until you've seen the new British sci-fi series, Intergalactic, yourself. That's not to say that those reviews are wrong, but when people have such strong opinions, it's always worth it to examine it yourself with a fresh pair of eyes.
There's definitely less controversy about the other new British series, This Way Up (ie. it's good).
RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under is exactly what that title says - the super fun RuPaul Drag Race comes to Australia, and it's about time considering our contribution to the drag scene in the form of the superb "Priscilla".
A new season of The Girlfriend Experience is also available.
There are some slightly older movies that you should definitely be checking out if you haven't seen them already. Guy Ritchie's first collaboration of Jason Statham (and Jason Statham's first feature film!), Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, is as good as it gets. Perfect time to watch the film that started it all before you pop into the theatre (support your local cinema! But safely, COVID-wise of course) to watch Wrath of Man.
Traffic is about the war on drugs and presented in typical Steven Soderbergh style, while the riveting Monster's Ball won Halle Berry an Oscar and rightly so. And if "High Impact Sex Scenes" don't bother you (or if that's exactly what you're looking for), then Bound is probably a film you missed when it first appeared in the '90s.
For the family, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is always worth a watch or re-watch.
For documentary fans, the heavily promoted Hulu Original I Am Greta has just been released, while you can find out all you want about the great Muhammad Ali in I Am Ali.
