Stan: What's New For 28 August - 3 September 2023

Doing time, bad doggy, and well-executed action goodness. These are just some of the highlights this week. Read on to find out more.

Television:

Sean Bean goes to prison in which Stephen Graham is a guard in Time and discovers some harsh realities. There is also the new British miniseries I Hate You.

Another week, another Drag Race, this time in Brazil. New episodes of Drag Race Brazil will be coming weekly.

A new season (season 2) of Power Book IV: Force has also just arrived - again, new episodes weekly.

Movies, Documentaries:

Quite a few good movie choices, in no particular order.

The classic horror story of a good doggy turning into a bad doggy arrives in 1985's Cujo, which is well worth a watch.

Ang Lee's Gemini Man is a solid action film, but it's not a patch on the excellent Dredd, even if it's very similar to another fine actioner, "The Raid".

I remember It Follows being all the rage when it was released, so check it out if you haven't.

And finally, the original movie adaptation of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider is in many ways still superior to the new one.

Kids:

Ridley Scott made a fantasy movie with Tom Cruise and Ferris Bueller's Day Off's Mia Sara? How have I missed this one? Anyway, Legend has just arrived on Stan.

Probably a bit more appropriate for the kids for the approaching school holidays is the relatively new Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.
